Putters: Long Nose Driving Putter

J. Allan, (1860's) $4500

This long nose Driving Putter was made in the 1860's.  The attractive head is made of Thorn or Fruitwood.  Replacement suede grip.  john was the Pro. at Royal North Devon and later Prestwick.

The Orion Putter with James Braid in signature.  Made for A. Phimster, Grantown on Spey.  Circa 1922.  The flat flanged base carries the words "Medium Lie" and the Registration number 348296.

A typical top quality Scare neck Driving Putter.  the crown is stamped McEwan.  Circa 1890's.  The head is made of Beech.  Grey leather grip looks original.

Tom Morris, St Andrews (1890) $2450

A long narrow head with the crown clearly stamped, T. Morris.   It has a brown leather flange, quite broad.  Circa 1890.  The head is made from Persimmon.  The shaft is stamped with T. Morris in Signature.  The original suede grip is well worn.

Circa 1890 with 4.5" hosel.  Gun Metal Putter with head stamped W. Wilson, St. Andrews, Maker.  The thick suede grip is an early replacement.   A good example from this respected Cleek maker.

Unknown Maker, $325

The unusual black stained wood head curves towards the rear.  Rectangular sole plate is a weight to the centre of the base, held by two brass tacks.  Face is crossed.  Original grip.  The club is in mint condition. Most unusual.
